“Writing is like driving at night in the fog. You can only see as far as your headlights, but you can make the whole trip that way.”  E.L. Doctorow

This quote could just as easily apply to our business journey here at The Little Space and it probably applies to your business (and life) too.  We just jumped aboard and followed that road wherever it lead us.    And we’ve learnt a few things along the way.

  1. A wrong turn is fine, just back up and find another way round.  There’s no ‘right’ way to get there after all.
  2. Take a detour and see what you stumble across – sometimes it turns out to be a lot more interesting that the way you had planned.
  3. Take a driving partner to share the load.  You have more laughs along the way and someone to hold your coffee when your hands are full.

In our first days in business, we pumped all our start up capital into creating a lovely space and then ‘made do’ with marketing and website as best we could. After all, very few people have a bottomless pot of cash.  Quite frankly, the element of risk is the thing that will drive you hardest and ensure a razor sharp focus hard on the value of every dollar. And until we really got going, we didn’t know who our customers who be or where they would be coming from.  How lovely now to have reached the next pitstop where we can finally put a little more into these essential business tools and let the technology do a little of the hard graft for us.

So, let’s hurl a metaphorical bottle of (french) champagne to officially launch the new The Little Space website (we name her www.thelittlespace.com.au) and welcome you aboard to look around at our lovely spaces and venture in to our online booking world.   We are always on the end of the phone (or email) if you need us we know, but, from our customer’s point of view  sometimes it’s just so nice to be able to look and book on the spot and get on with your day.   A big part of our business are our regular customers who need to be able to organise other people to attend meetings or sessions at The Little Space so a quick check on our calendar to suss out availability makes for a much better experience.

And right now we are (literally!!) driving around and checking out potential new spaces so if you would like to see The Little Space in your neighbourhood then let us know.  We would love to get your input.

We hope you stop by at The Little Space sometime on your journey – we’ll pop the kettle on!
